To our surprise, Carter got the hang of unwrapping gifts pretty quickly. We think mostly because he wanted to put the paper in his mouth. But, hey whatever works, right?

Trail of Lights 2006
This is Carter and I getting ready to enter the Trail of Lights. It is a mile long scenic display of Christmas lights. We thought that Carter would enjoy the lights and we suspected right. He just gazed up at them in amazement. We had a great time.

Today was Carter's first solid food feeding. He has been eyeballing us as we are eating and even streching his arms out to attempt to reach for our food. We decided it was time to try a feeding with thickened rice cereal. He loved it!

New Play Mat

This is Carter playing on his new fisherprice baby gym mat that Aunt Beckie bought him for Christmas. We exchanged gifts on Thanksgiving with my side of the family hence the gift. I personally love the mat because he can use it as he grows for belly time, back time, or when sitting up. He loves the toys and uses them to pull himself up. He is putting any and all toys he can get into his mouth these days. Then of coarse if they don't taste great, he follows with a grimicing look.

Carter at Play
Monday, November 20, 2006
Carter is really active now. He is reaching out for objects, pressing buttons, and even passing objects from one hand to the other. He is so strong and has mastered the hair death grip to mommies detriment. He has the determination of his mom and the steady nature of his daddy. We think the perfect combination for a successful life.

Carter is almost sitting up on his own. He uses his arms to balance himself. Yeah!

Getting Ready for Winter

Carter is growing so fast, I wasn't sure he would fit into the winter clothes we bought. Jeff was most concerned that he wouldn't fit into his Blackhawks suit. We put it on him to make sure, and it looks like he will be able to wear it through the winter season. Jeff couldn't resist taking a picture.

Getting Ready for a Walk

On this particular day, it was a little bit cool and windy outside. Mommy decided to put this hat on my head to protect my ears from the cool wind. Her friend Faye made it for me. We are getting ready to go for our morning walk around the neighborhood.

All of a sudden while playing with Carter one morning, he began to laugh. I was so excited that I had to capture it on video.

Me and Daddy at the Pumpkin Patch
Saturday, October 14, 2006
This is me and my daddy. What you don't know is that five minutes after this picture was taken, Daddy was bit by a Fire Ant. He had an allergic reaction and broke out in hives everywhere. This cut our trip a little short, but luckily with a dose of antihistimine my daddy is feeling much better.

Pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch
We took Carter to the local pumpkin patch today. He struck a pose in his Halloween costume that Grandma Parlor made him. Doesn't he look cute?

Feeding Funks
Carter has been having a difficult time with his feedings. He cries like he is hungry but when he sees the bottle he screams. He went from taking 6 ounces in 20 minutes to 0-1 ounces in an hour. I took him to the pediatrician and he thinks it is GED or acid reflux. Carter is now taking a medicine called Previcid for this problem. We have just started to see an improvement with his eating. Now he is taking down his bottles easier with little fuss and in no time flat. Mommy, Daddy and Carter are relieved.

Tracking Carter's Growth
Sunday, October 08, 2006
I have finally discovered a way to share Carter's growth with our family and friends. Periodically, I will post videos and pictures of Carter on his blogspot. This way even when he is miles away, you can share in our joy as he experiences life and we experience parenthood. We are such proud parents aren't we?
